4 Days Double Gorilla Trekking Safari Overview

A double gorilla trekking experience will reward you 2 full hours with mountain gorillas. This 4-day tour takes you to visit two different Rwanda gorilla families in Volcanoes National Park. It’s a great way to diversify your gorilla trekking encounter. Please note that each Rwanda gorilla permit costs $1500 so each of you will pay $3000 alone on permits for this safari. This money is exclusive of accommodation, transportation and more.

4-Day Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

When you arrive for your 4 Days Rwanda gorilla safari, you will find our tour guide waiting for you at the airport. When you meet, he will immediately transfer you to Hotel Rwanda for lunch and after to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze. This evening you will relax at the lodge as you get set for your first breathtaking gorilla encounter the following day.

Day 2: First Gorilla Tracking & Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village

On the second day of your 4 Days Rwanda gorilla safari, you will rise to an early breakfast and head for your first luxury gorilla trekking adventure. You should be at the park headquarters in Kinigi by 7:30 am for a shot briefing meeting and then head to the forests after. Depending on your luck, the trek should last for two to eight hours inclusive of a full hour encounter with these endangered primates. In the evening you will go to Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for an exceptional cultural experience. This village is apparently the best place in Rwanda for cultural encounters. You will enjoy every minute of your stay here.

Day 3: Second Gorilla Tracking & Twin Lake Visit

This day you arrive at the park headquarters for another briefing in the morning. After, you will head to a different area to track another gorilla family. The routine should be the same as on day 3 except for the afternoon – evening.

Immediately after your gorilla trek, you will drive to visit the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. These lakes are gems worth visiting. They are surrounded by the high hills of Virunga. The scenery is beautiful enough for you to capture lifetime photographs. You will get to tour the various slopes of the green volcanoes. Other activities here include birding, cultural and agro visits and more.

Day 4: Kigali City Tour & Departure

This is the last day of your 4 Days Rwanda gorilla safari. This day you will transfer to Kigali for a short city excursion where you will visit the nearby genocide memorial monuments, Caplaki crafts village plus so many other nice places. You should have lunch at Hotel Rwanda or Kigali Conventional Center. After touring the city, you will be transferred to the airport to catch up with your departure flight.
